www.mountainmessenqer.com The Weekend Paper for the Greenbrier Valley- Mountain Messenger Dec. 20, 2008. 7A mini grant ne Jan. 5 The deadline for the upcom- ing round of applications to the Greenbrier County Convention and Visitors Bureau's Coopera- tive Advertising Grant Program is quickly approaching on Jan. 5, 2009. This Mini Grant Program is an excellent resource for groups promoting tourism-related events and activities within the county. Sirme the program's inception in July 2002, the CVB has pro- vided more than $193,000 to the marketing efforts of a variety of events and attractions including the Alderson Fall Heritage Fes- tival, Rupert Country Fling, Freshwater Folk Festival, White Sulphur Springs Dandelion Fes- tival, Greenbrier Hills Golf Club and Taste of Our Towns Festi- val. Funding is available in the form of mini grants to groups (two or more businesses), orga- mzations and nonprofits operat- ing in Greenbrier County. Appli- cations should not exceed $2,000 and will be awarded to local, organizations engaged in the promotion of tourist-related activities and events. Applications for the CVB's mini grants are reviewed by the organization's Marketing Com- mittee twice each year, in Janu- ary and July. Deadlines for 2009 are Jan. 5 and July 1.
