2B The Mountain Messenger, Thursday, October 31, 1991 No-Loss Season Just Won't GWHS Shuts Out Midland Trail By Jason Gwinn The Cavaliers of Greenbrler West High.School entered the final week of the regular season with high hopes of having a perfect season following their 43-to-0 victory over Midland Trail High School October 25 at Hico. The victorious Cavaliers got their first score when senior Rick Cllne scored on a 15-yard run. Later in the first quarter, Chris Lunsford hit paydlrt when he recovered a fumble and carried It into the end zone on an 18-yard run. Rick Cline rushed for the extra-point conversion. In the second quarter Rick Cllne carried the pigskin across the goal line on a four-yard run to give the Cavaliers a 20-to-0 halftlme lead. Third-quarter scoring got underway with a 42-yard run by Chris Vaughan, with Jason Gwinn scoring the extra points. Later in the same period Jeff Brown raced 52 yards for a touchdown, with Chris Vaughan rushing for the extra point. The final score for the Cava- liers came on a 14-yard run by Rick Cllne, with Marr Cooper kicking the extra point. The Cavalier rushing attack was led by Rick Cllne as he rushed for 158 yards on 18 carries, followed by Jeff Brown with 119 yards, Chris Vaughan with 70 yards, Jason Gwtnn with 37 yards, Jerry Robertson with 26 yards, and Daniel Agee with 15 yards. The Cavallers gained a total of 493 yards and earned 22 first downs. The Patriots gained IO1 yards and had nlne first downs. Rick Cline extended hls scoring total to 160 polnts for the season.
