The booth is located beside Food & Friends Restaurant on the comer of Washington and Church Streets. The Ameri- can Beer Company/Bud- weiser will be generously do- nating all proceeds back to Carnegie Hall to support Arts and Education Programming. It wouldn't be Oktoberfest without brats and beers so when you are walking down Washington Street, stop by and enjoy something from the Oktoberfest because your purchase directly supports Carnegie Hall. Oktoberfest is an official T.O.O.T vendor, so remember; only tokens Can be exchanged for beer and brats. Special thanks to the Rotary Club of Green- brier County and the Carn- egie Hall Board of Directors for graciously volunteering to staff the Oktoberfest tent. Vendors will only ac- cept official T.O.O.T. Tokens in exchange for tastes. Cash will not be accepted at Vendor booths. Tokens are $1 each and are available in packets of $5, $10, or $20 or more. T.O.O.T. Tokens are now available for advance pur- chase online or at Carnegie Hall's Box Office. Purchase your tokens early at Carn- egie Hall or at one of the fol- lowing bank locations: BB&T in F airlea, City National Bank in downtown Lewis- burg, or First National Bank in White Sulphur Springs. Tokens may also be pur- chased on the day of the event from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at any of the six token booths located through- out the festival area. The Taste of Our Towns fes- tival draws thousands of resi- dents and visitors to down- town Lewisburg on the second Saturday in October. This can pose a problem for park- ing in the downtown area. To help ease the strain, auxiliary parking areas have been des- ignated during the event. New River Community and Techni- cal College will offer parking to TOOT guests in the large lot behind the school, as well as at the lot on Court Street. Accessible parking will be lo- cated at the City National Bank lot. Additional parking will be available in the City's municipal lots, as well as in designated parking spaces sur- rounding the downtown areas. Festival-goers are encour- aged to share the trip to the event, as parking in the down- town is limited. Greenbrier Val- ley Limousine will provide a free shuttle service from the park- ing lot of the YMCA/CVB to the downtown Lewisburg area. The shuttle will operate con- tinuously beginning at 10:45 a.m. and ending at 3:45 p.m. Carnegie Hall and the City of Lewisburg remind the commu- nity several streets in down- town Lewisburg will be closed from 7 a.m. until approximate- ly 4 p.m. on Oct. 10, for TOOT. Washington Street, which will feature two stages and 40+ food vendors, will be closed from La- fayette to Church Street. Food vendors, activities for children, and entertainment continue on Church Street, which will be closed from Washington Street to McIlhenny. South Court Street will be closed from Foster to Randolph Street. Route 219 will remain open to thru traffic, with local authori- ties providing traffic direction. All cars parked along festival routes must be moved prior to the streets closing, or by 7 a.m. Cars may be towed at the own- er's expense. Flu prevention promoted at T.O.O.T. To raise awareness about the upcoming flu season, Carn- egie Hall, the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center and the Green- brier Valley Medical Reserve Corps are joining forces at T.O.O.T. Carnegie Hall's 25th Annual Taste of Our Towns will be held Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Lewisburg. Greenbrier Valley Medical Center is providing 5,000 in- dividual hand sanitizers to be handed out at T.O.O.T. token booths. The Greenbrier Valley Medical Reserve Corps will pro- vide two large hand sanitizer pumps for each vendor booth These organizations would like to encourage Greenbrier County residents to utilize flu prevention methods such as frequent hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes and staying home when ill. Try to think of your favorite Christmas or holiday song. It doesn't have to be very long. Performance runs December 10 through Dec 23. Rehearsals start thelast week of October.
