The Spartans will open the season, marching in the Marshall University "Band Day" on Sept. 6 in Joan C. Edwards Stadium on the University campus in Huntington. Hosting the annual Greenbrier Valley Shrine Marching Band Clas- sic on Sept. 27 with the Greenbrier Valley Shrine Club, the Spartan band will march in the parade through Golf News S00ND US YOUR 'ME00ORIF.S Benefit Golf Tournament slated September 10 The Lewisburg United Method- ist Church Mission Team will host their 8th Annual Golf Tournament at the Lewisburg Elks Country Club on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. Teams consist of four people and the entry fee of $250 will cover all players. Be the first person to shot a "Hole in One" on a designated hole and you will win a new car pro- vided by Colonial Ford! There are lots and lots of other great prizes in store as well! The event proceeds will benefit a variety of mission projects locally and globally that are supported by the church's mission team. Spartan Band continued on Page 2B GEHS golf team finishes 3rd at Meadows Over The Hill Gang Golf Course, The Greenbrier Ten players on the GEHS golf Greenbrier West finished second Bowling League to meet team finished third with a low four- with a four-man total of 356. Indi- vidual scores were Justin Estep 80, Chandler Fitzwater 81, Hunter Hal- stead 91, Thomas Vestal 93 and Colby Brown 102. Woodrow Wilson finished first with a four-man total of 336. Indi- vidual scores were Isiah Zaccheo 68 (Medalist and freshman), Kase Pol- ing 88, Kenny Maiolo 89 and Oliver Bradley 112. The Over The Hill Gang Bowl- ing League will have an organiza- tional meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 10 a.m. at the Greenbrier Bowling Center in Lewisburg on Rt. 219 N. After the meeting bowling will commence at 11 a.m. The league is for seniors 50 years of age or older and is based on fully handicapped scores.
