Additionally, crews are applying coating to the aluminum roof and new varnish to the doors of the main entrance. The Greenbier County Commission recently authorized the work, which is being done by West Virginia Roofing and Building at a cost of $13,615. She is now one of 240 regional semi-finalists for the title, chosen from 11,000 entries around the United States. The 15-year-old Rainelle student will be a sophomore at Greenbrier West High School in Charmco this fall. Her parents are Earl J. and Donna Osborne of Rainelle. She was cited for her baton-twirling skills in her selection as a semi-finalist. "1 didn't even know my mom was entering me--until one evening I was looking through a notebook at home and saw a rough draft of what she had written about me," Miss Osborne said. "It wasn't until then, when I asked her about it, that she told me." Miss Osborne began her baton- twirling activities two years ago when she joined The Showstoppers, a local group of girls who meet for baton instruction. She has been a competitive twirler at Rainelle Junior High School the past two years and was head majorette for the band last year. She has participated in West Virginia and Virginia twirling compe- titions and last year competed in a national twirling event in Notre Dame, Indiana. She will be a major- ette in the Greenbrier West High School band during the 1990-91 school year. Miss Osborne appears in the Au- gust issue of Teen magazine. She is eligible for selection as one of 24 finalists who will appear in the No- vember issue. The field wilt be nar- rowed to 12, appearing in the De- cember issue, followed by the win- ner, to be featured in the February issue.
