Lexington, Kentucky -- Virginia Ander-
son, 72; formerly of Alderson, died
march 13, 1990, in Lexington, Kentucky,
She was the daughter of the late Al-
bert and Elizabeth Marshall.
She was preceded in death by two
sons, George and Robert Anderson; one
brother, Edward Allen; one sister, Ann
Beverly.
Survivors include one son, John An-
derson of Lexing¢on, Kentucky: three
brothers, William and Samuel Allen, both
of Lexingto[,, Kentucky and John
Marshall of White Sulphur Springs; three
sisters, Betty Brandford of Hayes, Vir-
ginia, Eva Mickels of Alderson and Hattie
Jackson of Ronceverte
Funeral arrangements were incom-
plete as of this date.
Walter William Arbaugh
Cornstalk --- Walter William Arbaugh,
79 died March 13, 1990, at the home of
his sister, Jessie Hedricks of Cornstalk.

Normie Kay Bostic

Kay Bostic 76, died March 9 1990 at a
Fairlea nursing home following a long ill-
ness
Born February 18 1914. at Glace
she was the daughter o1 the late Albert
and Emma Webb Spence,
Mrs Bosttc attended the Gtace Pres-
byterian Church,
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Alpha Guy Bostic in 1982.
Survivors include a son Alvin Bostic
of White Sutphur Springs; two daughters,
Nevada Foley of Pennsville, New Jersey,
and Bonnie Scott of Lewisburg; a
brother, Charlie Spence of White Sul phur
Springs; four sisters, Jane Ramsey and
Etta Hoke both of White Sulphur
Springs, Mattle Boggs of Rainelle and
Anna Lee Feury of Salem, Virginia: nine
grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchil-
dren.
Services were at Shanktin Funeral
Home Chapel in White Sulphur Springs
with Reverend James Black officiating.
Burial was at the Rosewood Cemetery in
Lewisburg.
Arrangements were made by Shan-
klin Funeral Home in White Sulphur
Springs.
Bern September 10, 1909, at Rich-
lands he was the son of the late Wood
and Cecil Brant Burgess.
Mr Burgess was a member of the
Calvary United Methodist Church, a
Wodd War 11 Army veteran, a member of
the American Legion and a retired
farmer.
Survivors include a sister, Lucille
Slayton of Lewisburg; a niece, Virginia
Slayton of Lewisburg, and a nephew,
John Slayton of Morgan Hill, California.
Services were at the Calvary United
Methodist Church at Richlands with Rev-
erend Roy Gwinn officiating. Burial was
in Cavalry Cemetery at Richtands.
Arrangements were made by Wallace
and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewis-
burg.
Vennie F. Boyd
Cannelton -- Mrs Vennie F Boyd, 77,
died March t0, 1990, at a Montgomery
hospital following a short illness.
Born March 3, 1913. at Putnam
County, she was the daughter of the late
Albert and Roxie Elkins Priddy.
Mrs Boyd was a homemaker and was
a Protestant.
Survivors ~nclude five daughters,
Nancy Duncan, with whom she made her
home. Patsy Huddleston. Shirley Dunlap
and Juanita Co[trell, all of Cannelton and
Delores Howard of Vineland New jersey;
two sons. Harold Boyd, Jr of Smlthers
and Darryl Boyd of Lewisburg; two sis-
ters, Reba Baldwin and Freda Knbght,
both of Witchers Creek: two brothers
Arthur Leo Priddy of Witchers Creek and
Albert C Priddy of Elkhart. Indiana: 19
grandchildren, ~nd 20 great-grandchil-
dren.
Services were at B C. Hooper Fu-
neral Home Chapel in Montgomery with
Reverend Tim Colvin officiating, Burial
was at Montgomery Memorial Park in
London.
Orville Hayes Brown
Alderson Orville Hayes Brown, 61.
died March 10, 1990, at a Beckley hospi-
tal following injuries sustained from a fall
Born July 11= 1929, at Grassy Mead-
ows, he was a former employee of the
West Virginia Department of Highways, a
self-employed tree contractor, and was a
member of the Alderson Baptist Church.
Survivors =nclude his wife Annie Lu-
cille Martin Brown; eight sons, Alvin Jun-
=or, Roger D., Johnny M., Roy Lee,
Jimmy R. Silas R. Frank H., and James
R. Brown. all of Alderson; three daugh-
ters, Virgie L Eggleston of Clayton, Bar-
bara Brown of Pickaway, and Mary E.
Hurley of Ronceverte a brother Roy
Brown of Blue Sulohur Spnngs; a half-
brother, Frank Jones of Alderson: two
half-sisters. Jo Ann Bryant of Blue
Sulphur Springs and Freda Mae Jones of
Hillsdale; t4 grandchildren, and two
was in Martin Cemetery at Blue Sulphur
Springs.
Arrangements were made by Lobban
Funeral Home, Alderson.
Opal E. Burr
Marlinton -- Mrs Opal Elizabeth Burr,
74, died March 12, at a Madinton hospi-
tal, following a long illness.
Born October 7, 1915, at Huntersville,
she was the daughter of the late James
William and Wastie Mae Schoolcralt
Crigger
Mrs Burr was a homemaker and a
member of the Cummings Creek Victory
Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Summers James Burr.
Survivors include two daughters, Bar-
bara Woods of Marlinton and Linda
Daniel of Huntington; a brother, Frank
Crigger of Monroe,Louisiana; a sister,
Eva Grimes of Madinton; three grandchil-
dren, and three great-grandchildren.
Services were at Cummings Creek
Victory Chapel near Huntersville with
Reverend Norman Lee Alderman officiat-
ing. Bunal was in Burr Cemetery at Burr
Valley.
Arrangements were made by
VanReenen Funeral Home, Martinton.
Doris W. Caldweil
Lewlsburg -- Mrs Doris W. Caldwell,
89, died March 14, 1990, in Lewisburg
after a tong illness.
She studied at the Chicago Art Insti-
tute and in Breslau, Germany. She was a
fashion illustrator for a San Francisco
newspaper. She painted numerous did-
ramas and her life-size nativity scene is
on permanent display at the Old Stone
Presbyterian Church, Lewisburg, of
which she was a member.
Surviving: daughter, Emily W Park of
Charleston; niece, Florence H. Brewer of
Walnut Creek, California.
Graveside service was at Rosewood
Cemetery, Lewisburg, with Reverend
Dexter Taylor officiating. Arrangements
were made by Wallace-Wallace Funeral
Home. Lewisburg.
Wilma J. Carr
Marllnton -- Miss WUma J. Carr, 61,
died March 10, at a Charlottesville. Vir-
ginia hospital following a long illness.
Born January 25, 1929, at Madinton
she was the daughter of the late Cecil
"and Blanche Wagh Carr
Miss Carr was a retired school
teacher and a member of the Retired
School Teachers Association
Survivors include four sisters, Sarah
Cart of Marlinton, Drema Dilley of War-
ren , Ohio, Naomi Chapman of Procter-
ville, Ohio and Cleo Carr of Amarilo.

Home in Madinton with Reverend Nor-
man Alderman officiating. Burial was in
Clawson Cemetery.
