wvvw.mountainmessnoer_cnm PUSH group wraps up 2009 with belated Christmas party The P.U.S.H. group (Peo- ple United for Self Help) met at the Fairlea Senior Center on Mar. 6 for a be- lated Christmas meeting which had' to be cancelled due to the many snows we had this year. The only "Christmasy" thing we had was candy placed on the tables for treats. Chocolate santas and reindeer and the al- ways tasty candy Canes. Our gift exchange will have to wait till next year. When we got to the cen- ter everyone had a chance to visit and exchange storm stories and some even had pictures of the snow and the flooding in their areas. Then president Pat Wood opened the meeting by ask- ing Daisy Biggs to share a devotional she had pre- pared. At the conclusion, she had the blessing on the food. The members having a March birthday got to eat first. Just prior to eating, Pat asked Renee Kounse to do the 2010 memberships. After the meal, we all joined in singing "Amazing Grace" and then President Pat had drawings to win some small trinkets. About that time the building's alarm went off. A service man from one of the local furnace compa- nies came to do his usual job, and the alarm went off. No one in the group knew how to turn it off so we had to listen to it till it went off. Then we were blessed with a local State Troop- er Coming to check on the problem. We were glad to tell him that all was well and he went on his way. Our thanks to him for his efforts. This was not in our plan for the day, but it was interesting. Our final activity for the day was an auction of items we brought to raise funds for the group. Daisy Biggs served as our auctioneer and Jim Winnings helped her, then they switched places. Both did a fine job and we appreciate their help. We have plans for some picnics in the spring and summer, but the dates are not certain yet so stay tuned to this paper and see what happens next. If it sounds like fun to you, come and join us. New people are al- ways welcome! Legal Notice NOTICE TO GERTRUDE L.
